The Study Abroad Program to Ghana is taking 20 IU students to Ghana. As a part of this program, students will learn about Ghanaian history; the impact of the transatlantic slave trade; Ghanaian cultural values and norms; contemporary social challenges; current economic, education, and healthcare systems; and the globalization and urbanization of the country. The course will follow a seminar format with instruction team facilitators, guest lecturers (including Ghanaian university professors and community leaders), and applied learning through group presentations and service projects.
